George Hollingshed
Fused Glass Artist
George Hollingshed’s interest in fused glass
began 2001 when he attended a course at the University of
Southern Queensland. Following this he bought a kiln to
begin creating individual pieces.
George completed a Certificate 1V in Visual
Arts in 2007. He has made and sold large sculptures
incorporating fused glass with wood and steel and has
exhibited in North Queensland as well as the New England
area of NSW. His works have been purchased by both
Australian and overseas collectors. He loves the mystery of
what each firing will bring and believes that art, humour
and happiness go hand in hand. He hopes that the functional
and whimsical pieces will be used and enjoyed equally.
